Cerilda was born January 6, 1913 in Elma, Iowa, the first child of Ernst and Emma Boehmer Jasch. She completed her schooling in Detroit Lakes, Minn. and worked there until she met Richard Wilson Ellis. After a brief courtship, they were married May 13, 1950 in Duluth, Minn.
After traveling around the Midwest and western states, they settled for a short time in Coos Bay, Ore. where their daughter, Winona Ann, was born and they made their way back to Minnesota for a time before more traveling took them to Missouri, Texas, California, Washington, Idaho and finally to their ultimate destination of Kalispell in 1963.
Following the passing of her husband in 1971 she began work at the Flathead County Courthouse in the treasurer’s office where she later retired. She enjoyed walking, traveling, beadwork, crocheting and gardening, which she did until age 99. She moved to Trout Creek nine years ago to be near her family.
Cerilda is survived by her daughter, Winona (Bruce) Wortley and grandson Tyrel Wortley of Trout Creek; sister Gladys Wilke and brother, Don (Esther) Jasch of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; brother, Virgil Jasch of Fargo, N.D. and sister-in-law Ruth Ellis of Duluth, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brother, Orval and sister, Rose.
Services will be held Fri., March 27 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Thompson Falls. Interment will follow at the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery in Kalispell at 3 p.m.
