She worked and lived in both Washington and Colorado before returning to Montana in 2004. Part of her work was in eldercare, and she had a special compassion for senior citizens. Carol will be remembered for her wonderful vocabulary and her wicked sense of humor. She loved writing, reading and listening to music. Her favorite reads were her bible and the massive dictionary, which couldn’t be carried around. A favorite hangout was a nearby pond. Of all the birds there, she most loved the geese, especially every summer’s hatch of goslings.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Richard Thompson and brother, Keith Thompson. She is survived by two children whom she loved very much, Austin Thompson and Ashley Thompson; her mother, Mary Ann Thompson; her sisters, Gloria (Dennis) Knisley and Mary (Jeff) Smith; and her brothers, Robert (Patricia) Thompson, Larry (Neva) Thompson, Gary (Jan) Thompson, Roger (Rita) Thompson, William (Sharon) Thompson, David (Sandy) Thompson and Richard (Fredericka) Thompson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
