Delilah was born January 11, 1936 in Wallowa, Ore. to Floyd and Evelyn Shoopman. She married Ray “Bill” Gowey, Jr in Wallowa in 1955. They raised three sons in Grass Valley, Calif. Bill passed away in 1972. During this time, Delilah waitressed and cooked in area restaurants.
She later married Gaylord Harris, and he passed away. In 1994 she moved to Noxon. Delilah attended Grace Chapel in both Grass Valley and Noxon. She loved birds and enjoyed feeding and watching them. She also enjoyed picking huckleberries, fishing, quilting, cooking, flowers, gardening, crafts, and helping people who struggled with addictions.
She is survived by two sons Bill (Jan) Gowey of Flagstaff, Ariz. and David Gowey of Noxon; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marion Shoopman of La Grande, Ore, and Eugene Shoopman of Wallowa, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands Bill Gowey and Gaylord Harris, one brother Harold Shoopman, and one son Larry Gowey.
