Jim was born September 8, 1944 in Missoula to J. Byron and Dorothy May (Kramer) Sanders. He called Thompson Falls home and served his country honorably in the United States Army. Jim retired from the State of Montana Department of Natural Resources as a surveyor. He was a rock hound, loved to hunt and had great pride in taking care of his friends and family. He was a member of the Raccoon Club.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, J. Byron and Dorothy May Sanders. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Sanders of Miles City, Mont.; and Ellen (John) Moore of Billings.; brothers and sisters, Richard Sanders and Joyce (Ed) Reeser of Thompson Falls, Karen Goodall of Missoula, and Joe Sanders of Billings; and his grandchildren, Ethan Moore and Olivia Moore of Billings.
