In 1960, Jerry enlisted in the US Army and served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was honorably discharged in 1963. Shortly after his Army service, Jerry worked for the Boeing Company in the Seattle area and later for an aerospace company in Texas. He also was an excellent real estate salesman, and did a short stint as a truck driver. He owned Dry Land Water Company in Las Vegas for several years. Always the athlete, Jerry competed in Senior Olympics in Arizona, Nevada, and Utah, winning gold and bronze medals. He furthered his education in the Seattle area by attending business college.
Jerry married three times in his life, with the last marriage being to Kay F. (Jonas) Landwehr March 21, 2002, in Las Vegas. He spent his last few years actively involved with church ministries, including being on the board of directors for the House of the Rising Sun, and participated in Praise and Worship Dance. Jerry is survived by his wife, Kay Landwehr of Pahrump, his children Shawnna and Carla from his first marriage, and Jerry from his second marriage. He is also survived by his step-children Rick Stephens, Shawna Renalds, Susan Martin, and Rick, Ron, Randy, and Roxanne.
