Mary lived in Trout Creek and owned and operated Miller’s Market on the “Best corner” in Trout Creek for about 16 years (the only business corner in Trout Creek at that time). She and Robert, “Bob”, Miller mover to Chattaroy, Wash. in 1984. There they operated their ranch where they raised beef master cattle. They survived the Firestorm of the 1990s where they lost virtually everything. Once again they started over and rebuilt their beautiful home and ranch buildings. After Bob’s passing in 1998, Mary moved to Miller Park in E. Spokane, where she lived alone until her death.
She was a charter member of Trout Creek Senior Citizens, 25 year member of the Grange, and a member of Hillyard Senior Citizens in Washington.
Mary is survived by her sister, Margaret Elizabeth Patterson of Portland, Ore.; sons, Byron (Janice) Miller of Coburg, Ore.; Robert (Diana) Miller of Bothell, Wash.; and John (Janet) Miller of Spokane, Wash.; daughter, Anna Marie Robbins of Spokane, Wash.; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at the Trout Creek/Whitepine cemetery in Trout Creek Saturday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. MDT. There will be a pot luck following at the Senior Center in Trout Creek.
