Mildred was born August 30, 1912 in Calvin, N.D., the second of eight children born to Mason and Eva Perry. She grew up and attended schools in Montana and North Dakota. During her teenage years and the Great Depression years she would live and work with other families cooking and cleaning.
Mildred married Lewellyn Fleisher November 23, 1938 in Staples, Minn. and they had four children. He died in 1944 of stomach cancer. Mildred then moved to Thompson Falls where her parents lived.
She worked at Gambles in Thompson Falls for 25 years, where she met Frank Holt when he came in to purchase a pair of gloves. They married November 24, 1954. Mildred retired from Gambles in 1977 at the age of 65.
Mildred attended the Congregational Church in Thompson Falls and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mt. Silcox Chapter #111. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed hiking, boating, and playing pinochle. She and Frank enjoyed traveling and visiting family in their retirement years. Frank passed away in 1998.
She is survived by her son, Vernon (Lynda) Fleisher of Hope, Idaho; two daughters, Mavis (John) Spradlin of Sedro Woolley, Wash. and Carol (Buster) Crabb of Sagle, Idaho; ten grandchildren Kami O’Conner of Georgia, Jennifer (Vincent) Aanerud of Rathdrum, Idaho, Mike (Ryan) Fleisher of Issaquah, Wash., Becky (Brian) Ittig of Issaquah, Wash., Jeff (Allison) Fleisher of Branchburg, N.J., Shannon (Missy) Spradlin of Sedro Wolley, Wash., Mikki Spradlin of Sedro Woolley, Wash., Brenda VonHeeder of Trout Creek, George (Esther) Rockwell of W. Weber, Utah, and Dawn Trachy of Dayton, Ohio; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two step-sons, Kenney (Joan) Holt of Twin Falls, Idaho and William (Peggy) Holt of Hamilton; and one sister, June (Frank) Holmes of Sedro Woolley, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one son, Donald Fleisher; one grandson, Keith Rockwell; three step-sons, David, Jack and Sherman Holt; three sisters, Ruth, Rena and Eva; and three brothers, Harlan, Harvey, and Alfred.
