He was born January 10, 1937 in Wien, Wisc. to Harry and Martha (Hirning) Viegut. After graduating from eighth grade, Raymond and his family moved to the Missoula area where he later graduated high school in 1954. After high school, he joined the Montana National Guard.
On April 9, 1961, he married F. Darlene Anderson. Most of their lives together have been spent in the Hot Springs area.
Raymond was a devoted member of the Hot Springs Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, and Clark Fork Valley Shrine Club. He loved the outdoors. Ray enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Martha, and his sister Rachel Stark. Survivors include his wife, Darlene; his children, Scott (Angie) Viegut and Lisa (Phillip) Jordan; brother, Allan; aunt, Lillian Hirning; grandchildren, Cassi, Seth, Colten, Julie, Sydney and great-grandson Hiram; cousins, nieces and nephews.
Raymond’s memorial service will be held in the Lone Pine Hall Feb. 16, 2013 at 1:30 where a potluck reception will follow. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
