He was born April 5, 1920. He served in the Aleutian Islands in the 54th Fighter Division in World War II.
Richmond retired from teaching in Butte, Mont. He had no children of his own, but taught French and music, choral and band, to sixth and seventh graders; these were his kids.
Richmond received much from his community and in return he left what he could. He donated his land to the fire department in Trout Creek and left his books to the Thompson Falls Library.
He loved his cats, reading and music and had a passion for the outdoors, the reason he retired to Trout Creek.
He is survived by three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Friday, Oct. 18 at Whitepine Cemetery. Memorials can be made to TRACS, P.O. Box 1589, Thompson Falls, MT 59873.
