After his service in the Navy, he married Phyllis Olson and they had seven children together. His children were the most important part of his life.
Russell was a devoted father and he had a passion for fishing. He enjoyed hunting and camping regularly, and was a crafty diesel engine mechanic. He was also a problem-solver who often took on difficult and unwanted projects at work and around the house. He was a long haul truck driver for 50 years. He owned his own trucking business for many years and owed a fleet of trucks. During his career he would travel to many different states as well as Alaska, Canada and Mexico. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
