He grew up in the St. Maries area and attended schools there. He served in the Army as a sharp shooter from 1972-76. He was an avid outdoorsman and took advantage of all it had to offer. He was also a chainsaw carver and did ice and wood carving. He was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, and brother.
Samuel is survived by his wife, Redella of Thompson Falls; parents, Milton and Margaret Swatman of Emida, Idaho; father-in-law, Art Lacer of Thompson Falls; sisters, Doris (Frank) Michael of Emida, Idaho and Joyce Daniels of Cheney, Wash; son, Colby (Tara) Albright and daughter, Elena, Jamasson (Katie) Lacer and children, Brody, Levi, Gabriel; daughter, Samantha Swatman and children, Jeremiah and Sonia.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Carol Jean Swatman; granddaughter, Jamie Jarvis; grandmother, Mae Pryne; grandfather, Samuel Kendall; and good friend and mother-in law, Jean Lacer.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Nov.15 at 2 p.m. at Gospel Mountain Assembly of God in Thompson Falls. Services are entrusted to Sunset Hills Funeral Home in Thompson Falls.
