In the junior high gymnasium, Alex Barerra (right), a fourth grader, tested scientific impulse and force in the egg drop game. Students were given, tape, foil and straws to create a safe haven for an egg (safely secured in a plastic bag) and then drop the egg package from three different heights. Teacher Doree Thilmony said her Physical Science high school students were testing the same measurements. From STEM night, best practice appeared to be creating a parachute for the egg, which Thilmony said helped reduce the time it took for the egg to hit the floor.
