Ted Kato Invite returns to T-Falls for another run

January 18, 2018

The Kato just keeps going and going and going…

One of the longest running regular season wrestling tournaments in Montana, the 2018 edition of the Ted Kato Invitational, affectionately referred to as “the Kato,” will be held at TFHS Saturday.

As always hosted by the Thompson Falls Blue Hawks, this year’s Kato will also include Superior, Arlee, Florence, Plains-Hot Springs, Mission-Charlo, Bigfork, the Kalispell Flathead JV and the Missoula Sentinel JV.

The coaches meeting before the tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the wrestling set to kick off at 9:30. It is projected that consolation and championship matches will get underway at about 3 p.m.

Thompson Falls will also host a triangular meet involving Plains-Hot Springs and the Kalispell Flathead JV Friday evening at TFHS. That mat action is slated to begin at 7 p.m.

The Kato Invitational was named in Ted Kato’s honor many years ago after the legendary educator and coached passed away.
