HAWK SENIOR Nate Thibeault shoots against Noxon Thrusday as Red Devil Levi Brubaker defends.

Noxon boys basketball coach Bart Haflich thinks basketball is all about second chances.

If you create enough second chances for your team, you stand a lot better chance of winning games. And that means being aggressive when it comes to rebounding, particularly on the offensive end.

"Rebounding is key," he said. "If you can give yourself second chances and get some putbacks on offense, everything goes a lot better."

Hitting the boards hard in Pablo Saturday, the Red Devils defeated the homestanding Eagles 77-57. In other action last week, the Devils fell to the Blue Hawks 73-44 in Thompson Falls Thursday.

The Devils have two important 14C conference games in the offing this week, at St. Regis Friday, and against Charlo in Noxon Saturday. "These are big games for us," Haflich said. "We really need to play well in both of them."

Alex Currie led the Devils to the win in Pablo with 22 points, Logan Wood scored 19, Rylan Weltz 11 and Owen Fisher 10. Levi Brubaker added eight points, Ethan Hinrichsen four and Braedon Marshall three.

Brendon McDonald threw down 29 points to pace Two Eagle and Dylan Moran added 11.

Currie scored 13 points in the game at Thompson Falls, Weltz added nine, Brubaker eight, Wood seven, Hinrichsen five and Fisher two.
