Postal proposal concerns patrons

U.S. postal customers along portions of Blue Slide Road, between Thompson Falls and Trout Creek, have expressed concern that their mail service may be in for a change, relocating some Thompson Falls residences to Trout Creek postal jurisdiction.

Exact details of the modification are unknown. Likewise, so is the source where this information was generated.

One main concern for these individuals, is that they will have an address change. This means getting new driver’s licenses and other forms of identification where addresses are used. The expenses attached to making these changes are not being welcomed.

According to John Friess, communications contact for the U.S. Postal Service, stated that as far as he understands, this boundary adjustment is a rumor. He was not aware of any U.S. postal discussion addressing this change as of Tuesday afternoon.

“Sorry I don’t have a lot of information to share, but what I can tell you is that the Postal Service is constantly evaluating its operations to improve service to its valued customers. It is procedure for the Postal Service to not enact changes without town hall meetings and customer input,” Friess stated.
