CRG sets event to clear cabin fever

March 22, 2018

Cabinet Resource Group (CRG) has a suggestion for those looking to clear their minds and bodies of cabin fever fogginess. They are inviting the public to attend their annual meeting at beautiful Bighorn Lodge.

According to CRG member Kathi Slora, the event will include a slideshow of the Cabinet Mountains; a presentation that’s sure to get everyone excited about up and coming summer recreational activities.

In addition, the occasion will embrace a social hour, guest speakers and silent auction. Slora stated that a guest speaker will be presenting information on the photographic works of local wilderness photographer Andrew Klaus. She added that he will not personally be able to attend, so they have scheduled a guest to speak on his behalf.

“Silent auction items in the past have been an interesting mix of items ranging from wooden implements handcrafted by a local artisan to experiences such as a fly-fishing outing, sailing on the lake and private yoga sessions,” Slora said. She hinted that donations are arriving for the upcoming auction and “will be a combination of items, outdoor activities and other experiences.”

CRG was established in 1976. Members immediately began implementing the group’s mission to protect the Cabinet’s natural resources through education and action.

“CRG has been taking an active role in trail maintenance in the Cabinet Mountains, so it is a wonderful opportunity to see a slide show of this beautiful country,” Slora commented, addressing the presentation to take place at the gathering.

If interested in getting out and enjoying discussion about the Cabinet Mountains, you can join CRG at the lodge Saturday, March 31, beginning at 4 p.m. Bighorn Lodge is located on the wild and scenic Bull River, 7.2 miles north of Bull River Junction on Highway 56. Slora can be reached at (406) 847-5610 for more information on the event or joining CRG. Information about the group can also be found at http://www.cabinetresourcegroup.org.
