Sanders County athletes are switching gears to spring sports. But a few select athletes got to dust off their sneakers for another battle on the basketball court in state all-star play.

Seniors Payton Frields of Thompson Falls and Lindsay Laws of Plains played in the Treasure State Classic March 15-17 in Billings. The tournament is for Montana seniors. Frields was one of 10 players selected from nine Western B division teams. Laws played for the Western C division team, which was chosen from 30 teams.

Laws also played in the Mission Valley All-Star Game March 22 with Trotters teammate Kara Altmiller. This was the second appearance for Laws in the Mission Valley bout, where she also was named MVP for the second consecutive year. For the boys, Jay VonHeeder and Kyle Weeks, both of Plains, competed on separate teams. This was the 23rd year for the Mission Valley All-Star Game.
