FWP seeks members for UGBEP program

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) is seeking a member of a local Chamber of Commerce to fill one vacancy on the Upland Game Bird Enhancement Program Citizens’ Advisory Council. The Advisory Council is made up of 12 volunteers representing various interests across the state, including a Chamber of Commerce representative.

The purpose of the council is to advise FWP on the maintenance of a long-term Upland Game Bird Enhancement Program (UGBEP) strategic plan and to evaluate annual UGBEP activities. Participation in the Council will require two, two-day meetings and may require travel and an over-night stay, one meeting in the spring and fall. Council members are appointed by FWP Director Martha Williams and serve 2 or 4- year terms. The last meeting was March 26 - 27, 2018, in Helena.

Interested persons may apply online at fwp.mt.gov choose Upland Game Bird Enhancement Program Citizens Advisory Council. Applications may also be requested by calling the Wildlife Division at 406-444-2612. The deadline to apply is Feb. 23. FWP anticipates more vacancies as terms end in 2018. Interested persons may apply now in advance of these openings.
