RED DEVIL THROWER Aaron Raynor won second place in the varisty shot put competition at Previs Field Thurday.

For being a relatively small team, the Noxon Red Devils pack a lot of scoring power.

Coach Matt Havens guided his Devil girls and boys through two meets last week, in the Thompson Falls Invitational Thursday and in the Seeley-Swan Invitational at MCPS Stadium in Missoula Saturday.

The Devil boys scored 63 points to tie Clark for third in team scoring in the Thompson Falls Invite while the Lady Devils scored 68 points and finished fourth on that side of the meet.

Aaron Raynor won second place in the shot put and third place in the discus to pace the Noxon boys. Raynor hit a personal best distance of 41 feet, 7 inches in the shot and threw the discus 107-7 to earn his placing points.

Rylan Weltz threw the javelin a career-best 141 feet, 7 inches to win second in the javelin, in addition to taking fifth place in the shot put with a best mark of 40-5.

In other track and field doings by the Noxon boys, Levi Brubaker went 40-11.5 in the triple jump to score the Devils' only event win of the day, besides taking second place in the long jump, fourth in the 100 meters and running the leadoff leg on Noxon's 4 by 100 meter relay, where he was joined by Cody Cable, Aiden Galloway and Silas Hay.

For his part, Cable won second place in the 200 meters and third in the 400, and also running on both relays, including on the fourth place 4 by 400 relay, where he was joined by Alex Currie, Edison VanVleet and Hay.

VanVleet won fourth place in three individual races – the 800 meters, the 110 meter hurdles and the 300 hurdles.

With the Lady Devils, Anna Kaiser won second place in the triple jump, third place in the long jump, fifth in the 800 meters and sixth in the 400, Kali Murray ran down second place in the 300 meter hurdles and fifth in the 100 meter high hurdles and Phalyn Fickas took second in the 3200 meters and fifth in the 1600.

Delaney Weltz claimed second in the shot put, fifth in the javelin and sixth in the discus, and Kristina Brown speared fourth place in the javelin and finished fifth in the 400 meters.

Brown, Kaiser, Murray and Alivia Hill joined forces to run to third place in the 4 by 400 relay, and Brown, Hill, Murray and Weltz teamed up to win fourth in the 4 by 100 meter relay.

Weltz and Kaiser were the only two Noxon athletes to score in the Seeley-Swan meet. Weltz finished third in the javelin and fifth in the discus while Kaiser jumped to sixth place in the triple jump.
