Sanders County's three District 14C track and field teams wrapped up regular season action competing in the Kim Haines Invitational at MCPS Stadium in Missoula Saturday, and will all now make plans to attend the combined District 13C/14C meet, again at MCPS Stadium Friday and Saturday.

From Plains, all-around sports star Jessica Thompson, who is also a most valuable player for the Plains-Hot Springs softball team, was the only event winner from Sanders County in Saturday's Haines Invite, claiming first place in the shot put (38-6) and in the javelin (121-7) in addition to placing a close second in the discus.

Also from the Plains Trotters, Cree Lulack won second place in the 300 meter hurdles, Lindsay Laws speared second in the javelin and Kara Altmiller placed fifth in the discus and the javelin.

For the Horsemen, Brandon Managhan won fourth in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump, and Sinjin LaDeaux took fourth in the high jump.

Noxon athletes also made a strong showing in the Haines Invite. Levi Brubaker triple jumped 40 feet, 10.5 inches to win third place in that specialty, Rylan Weltz won fifth in the discus and sixth in the javelin for the Devil boys, Phalyn Fickas won fifth in the 3200 meters and Delaney Weltz took fifth in the girls' javelin.

Tyler Carr was the only Hot Springs athlete to place in Missoula Saturday, running down fifth place in the 300 meter hurdles.
