ONE OF THE BEST golfers in Thompson Falls High School history, Hawk senior Dylan Beckman won fourth place and All-State B honors for a second straight time at the State B tournament in Shepherd May 15-16.

Only four-strong, the Thompson Falls golfing team made quite a splash at the State B golf tournament at EagleRock Golf Course in Shepherd May 15-16 as three of those four Hawk golfers earned All-State B honors and the other, a rising freshman, finished well.

Falls seniors Dylan Beckman and Elsie Brown capped brilliant prep careers by repeating as All-State B performers. Beckman carded a 76 on the first day and a 79 on the second to finish alone in fourth place with a two-day total of 155, while Brown shot 90 the first day and 95 the second to finish with a 185 for 11th place among the girls.

Only a sophomore and Elsie's younger brother, Ethan Brown continued his late season surge by shooting 77 and then 85 for a 162 total and eighth place with the B boys, also earning All-State B recognition.

Thompson Falls' other golfer in the State B, freshman Megan Baxter, who also finished the season very strong, shot a 101 the first day and a 115 the second to finish with a final score of 216, good for 36th overall with the girls.

Hawk coach Mike Bates was very pleased with how his fearless foursome competed in Shepherd.

"We ended the season very well," he said. "Dylan and Elsie completed standout careers with two great rounds and I look for only bigger and better things from Ethan and Megan next year."
