Cows killed in accident

Law enforcement inspect a cattle truck that tipped outside of Trout Creek last week.

A truck that was hauling cattle overturned pulling off of Highway 200 W just outside of Trout Creek, June 6th. The driver of the truck was in good condition but three of the cows in the load were killed. It was suspected that there would be more cow deaths due to the immense stress of the accident and the effect it has on livestock.

The truck was one of three traveling to a field owned by Charlie Gardner that was being rented out. They were a quarter mile away from their destination when the truck lost control pulling into the driveway. Local authorities responding to the scene believed that wet grass could be the reason for the accident.
