New business helps beat the heat

Danielle Wood of Thompson Falls is offering a little help in beating the heat this summer. Wood, a Pampered Chef consultant in Thompson Falls who also works for the Chamber of Commerce, is offering a pre-filled water balloon service, called Balloonatics, and serving all of Sanders County. She began taking orders Wednesday, July 18. It is preferable that an order is placed 24 hours in advance, she said, but same-day service may be available.

Wood thought that “this would be a fun service to offer customers, taking away one hassle of having a soaktacular summer event. Birthday parties, backyard BBQs, family reunions or just a fun activity for the family.”

Customers can choose from six colors (red, blue, green, yellow, pink or orange) or any combinations for a multi-color selection. The balloons will be delivered in ultra-tough sacks and will always contain a “few extras,” Wood says, to allow for breakage or a few practice shots. The balloons Wood will be using are made of biodegradable natural latex.

Cost for the service is 100 balloons for $20, 300 for $50, 500 for $75, or 800 for $100. There will be free delivery to the Thompson Falls area and a flat $5 delivery charge to the rest of the county. No-cost pickup is also available. For the grand opening weekend, all orders placed July 18-21 will receive free delivery and an extra 50 free balloons.
