Christmas music to follow parade

November 29, 2018

Once again the Rex Theatre will open its doors Saturday to the public to offer warmth and Christmas music after the annual Christmas on Main Street parade in Thompson Falls.

The free Christmas show, now in its seventh consecutive year, will feature local musical talent with a few surprises in the mix. Headlining the show will be the Neva Woods Memorial Hand Bell Choir, directed by Dan Wittenburg. Vocal ensembles from Trout Creek and Thompson Falls schools will also perform. To delight dog lovers of all ages, Dr. Kathryn Hawkins returns to the Rex stage with her dancing field spaniels, who will perform to a Christmas medley. As a finale, if weather conditions between Thompson Falls and the North Pole cooperate, Santa Claus is expected to make a brief appearance at the Rex.

Doors to the Rex will open at 6:45 p.m. Show goers are urged to get settled in their seats as soon as possible after the parade. The performance will begin between 7 and 7:15, depending on how long the parade lasts. The concert itself is expected to run about one hour.

The concert is free, but there will be a donation jar at the entrance, with proceeds going to support the Rex Theatre’s operation. As in years past, Rex owners Doug and Karen Grimm are donating use of the theater to the community for this special event. For more information, contact Jan Manning at 827-6385.
