NOXON'S LOGAN WOOD drives to the basket in Frenchtown Saturday. Devils host St. Regis Friday.

The Noxon Red Devils were seeing the basket with 20-20 vision last week, and the end result was two 20-point wins for the West End boys.

Sitting at 2-0 in non-conference action, the Devils were to have played at Clark Fork, Idaho, Tuesday (results were not available at press time) and will host St. Regis Friday in Noxon's District 14C conference opener.

Coach Bart Haflich said his team's experience level, their hard-earned hoops maturity, paid off in the Devils' two wins in the Western C Tip-Off tourney in Frenchtown. Noxon be-deviled Clark Fork, Mont., (the co-operative between Superior and Alberton) 73-53 Friday, and logged a 60-40 win over the Lincoln Lynx Saturday.

"Most of our guys have been around for awhile now, they have developed better court awareness," he said. "They know now how games ebb and flow and are better able to take advantage of their opportunities."

Alex Currie had the hot hand against Clark Fork and led the Devils with 24 points, Rylan Weltz and Logan Wood scored 16 apiece, Levi Brubaker eight, Cade VanVleet four, Edison VanVleet two and Owen Fisher one.

Carson Callison netted 26 points to pace Clark Fork and Aaron Waddle chipped in with 10 more.

The Devils shot out to a 36-15 lead by halftime against Lincoln and cruised in for the win from there.

Weltz scored 23 points to lead Noxon, Currie scored 12, Wood 11, Brubaker six, Edison VanVleet five, Fisher two and Cade VanVleet one.

Nathan Brown scored 19 points for Lincoln and Bridger Kamps added eight.

Haflich expects a good game with St. Regis Saturday. "They have improved for sure," he said, "and they have some decent players. We just need to take care of what we can control and go out and play hard."
