February 28, 2019

The Sanders County Arts Council (SCAC) is changing pace a bit with its March event for the Tapestry Performing Arts Season. On Saturday, March 9, the council will present “Bunkhouse Beans and Bacon” at the Clark Fork Valley Elks Lodge in Thompson Falls.

The featured artists is Montana’s poet laureate Lowell Jaeger. According to SCAC, Jaeger will share his poetry and that of others, combined with his commentary, storytelling and humor. He believes that poetry can be employed in a variety of ways and can stimulate thoughtful reflection and discussion. So be prepared to participate, SCAC says.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes a pulled pork dinner. Local musicians Dave and Deb Oliver, Zach Whipple-Kilmer and Rudi Boukal share their talents. Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door, and students are $5 any time. Tickets are available at D&D Liquor in Thompson Falls, Garden Gift and Floral in Plains and First Security Bank in Thompson Falls and Plains.

At the March 9 event, SCAC will hold a raffle with prizes as four sittings with local caricature artist Steve Eberhardt for color portrait caricatures.

For more information, contact Karen Thorson at 826-0500, Rudi Boukal at 827-4359 or Joy Nelson at 826-8585.
