The Thompson Falls Chamber of Commerce hosted a Business After Hours social event for chamber members last week. The Thursday event included appetizers from local businesses and offered members an opportunity to network and connect with each other.

About thirty chamber members attended the after-hours event. President Michael Scharfe of First Security Bank said the chamber is working on new ways to promote its members. Along with bringing back luncheons, they are looking to add more events like the Thursday mixer. Scharfe introduced the chamber board members, including Kim Roberts of Empire Builders/Ace, Cody Mosher of the HighLead, Gigi Romer of Bratz and Associates, Robin Hagedorn of Hagedorn Land Surveying, Carla Parks, Daniel Moore of the Black Bear and Ronda Wakefield with Northwest MT Human Resources and Two Rivers Grille and Catering, which is set to open in Thompson Falls next month.

The chamber also unveiled their updated website on Thursday. The website includes a directory of businesses and services and is open to all businesses and organizations. Listings are free, with extra content provided for chamber members.

UPDATED INFORMATION - The chamber's redesigned website includes a directory of local businesses and services.

"We are working to build a complete and comprehensive directory," said Moore, who designed the website. "Anyone can go to the directory and submit their information directly. We want this directory to be the very best place to go online to learn about what local businesses and services exist in this area."

Scharfe also took time Thursday to recognize Joanne Burk, who has been organizing the Christmas on Main Street parade for nine years. Scharfe presented Burk with a canvas print of her favorite photo from the 2018 parade.

Board member Carla Parks said the chamber is starting to collect donations for the flower baskets that will be hung along Main Street. More information on that project, as well as a listing of local events and the new service directory, is available at the chamber website, http://www.thompsonfalls.org.
