Over the Hill Gang is back on the Bend

The Over the Hill Gang is back, and 41 self-described “old duffers” were out on River’s Bend Monday for the first round of season play.

Proving that experience is golden, Mike Gilmore and Lana Nolen shot the low gross rounds of 43 and 51, while Carter Meyer and Barb Wooden factored in their miniscule handicaps to arrive at the low nets of 33 and 35.

In other Hill highlights, Ron Beaty was closest to the pin in 2 on No. 1, Buck Adams put the long putts to bed on No. 2 and No. 6, Mike Normandin sank the long putt on No. 3, Don Hansen rolled in the long putt on No. 4, Rick Kendall was closest to the pin on No. 5, Ron Belger spanked the longest drive on No. 6, Nancy McKnight dropped in the long putt on No. 7, Randy Hojem made good with the long putt on No. 8, and River’s Bend legend Jesse Mack smashed the long men’s drive on No. 9.

Wooden converted the long putt on No. 9 and smacked the long women’s drive of the day on that hole.

If their bodies are willing and the weather is suitable, the men and women of the Over the Hill Gang will again gather at River’s Bend next Monday for another round of golfing fun.
