Hill gang plays with a Yellow Ball Scramble
June 6, 2019
It was a Yellow Ball Scramble day at sunny River’s Bend Monday morning, and the Over the Hill golfing gang made a fun day of play of it.
With a member of each foursome required to play the yellow ball on any given hole and the other three playing in a best-ball scramble format, the team of Buck Adams, Rusty Haggard, Russ Wood and Charlie Hooten played the yellow ball best, while the team of Don Hansen, Sam Burt, John Beckman and Lana Nolen posted the lowest scramble score.
In other Over the Hill highlights, Dave Garr was closest to the pin in 2 on No. 1, Dick Hooten ran in the long putt on No. 2, Wally Gibe got the long putt down on No. 3, Ron Sharp converted the long putt on No. 4, Jens Jantzen was closest to the pin off the tee on No. 5, Jesse Mack smacked the long 70+ drive on No. 6, Gary Thompson chased the long putt in on No. 6. Jerry Neal sank the long putt on No. 7, Haggard made the long putt on No. 8, Carter Meyer dropped in the long putt on No. 9, Chuck Manry man-handled the long men’s drive on No. 9, and Nolen hit the long ladies’ drive on No. 9.
Mike Gillmore converted a chip-in shot on No. 2 and Dick Garr got one down on No. 7.
Thirty-two of this area’s friendliest golfers gathered for Monday’s Over the Hill golfing fun this week.
