Twin golfing titans Ron Beaty and Gary Thompson tamed River's Bend in Over the Hill action Monday morning as both carded low-gross rounds of 41 to lead the locally famous group of gregarious golfers back to the clubhouse.

Showing she has some River's Bend chops of her own, Lana Nolen led the Hill ladies in with the low gross of 50.

Don Hansen and Liz Morkert shot the low men's and women's net rounds of 32 and 41.

In other play of the day, Rick Kendall was closest to the pin in 2 on No. 1, Russ Wood put down the long putt on No. 2 and hit his tee shot closest to the pin on No. 5, John Torres rolled in the long putt on No. 3, Shawn Wilkinson downed the long putt on No. 4, Ron Belger ripped the long drive on No. 6 and converted the long putt on No. 8, John Beckman earned long putt honors on No. 6, Al Luckow dropped in the long putt on No. 7, Gary Moe put the long putt to bed on No. 9, Mike Gillmore slammed the long men's drive on No. 9, and Nolen walloped the long women's drive on No. 9.

Wilkinson, Belger, Gillmore, Wood and Dave Garr were all paid for making par on No. 2, and Rusty Haggard (No. 4), Rees Woolford (No. 3) and Jerry Neal (No. 7) made chip-in shots part of their Monday morning rounds.

Thirty-seven Over the Hill players toured the Bend this past Monday.
