First Security in first in Wednesday league

First Security Bank is now in first place.

First Security golfers Dan Whittenburg, Michael Scharfe, Bill Nolen and Ben Mummert joined forces to shoot the low team gross of 174, allowing their team to leap-frog Whitefish Credit Union and move into first place in Wednesday Night Men’s League play at River’s Bend last week.

Also moving up in the standings, Wild Coyote linksters Gary Thompson, Dave Petteys, Scott Pardee and Howard Morkert shot the low team net of 143 helping that team move up from fourth place and into third.

Dan Kier fired a 39 for Wednesday night’s low individual gross and Scharfe used his handicap to arrive at the low individual net of 31.

In other Wednesday highlights, Paul Flemmer was closest to the pin in 3 on No. 2, Marc Terrazas rolled in the long putt on No. 3, Mummert was good for the long putt on No. 6, Randy Hagedorn was closest to the pin off the tee on No. 8, Pardee hit the long drive on No. 9, and Steve Fairbank blasted the long 55+ drive on No. 9.


Jesse Mack added to his River’s Bend legend by chipping in yet another shot, this one on No. 1, and Ryan Ostwald scored the night’s other chip-in on No. 8.
