Hill players witness Wally's World show

For one day at least, River’s Bend became part of Wally’s World.

Wally Gibe enjoyed a banner day at the Bend, shooting the low gross and capturing four flags otherwise in leading the Over the Hill golfing gang through yet another round of friendly, sunny, Monday morning golf earlier this week.

In addition to shooting the low gross round of 40, Wally made the Bend his world for the day by also hitting his ball closest to the pin in two shots on No. 2, putting down the long putt on No. 2, hitting his tee shot closest to the pin on No. 5, and finally, by knocking down the long putt on No. 9.

In other Over the Hill highlights, Bruce Haflich shot the low men’s net of 32, Sharon Pound played through with the low women’s gross of 54 and Barb Wooden collected low women’s net honors with a 39.

Elsewhere around the Bend, Dave Petteys rolled in the long putt on No. 3, Pound put the long one down on No. 4, Dennis Gripp ripped the long 70+ drive on No. 6, Gary Thompson was good with the long putt on No. 6, Dave Garr put the long putt down on No. 7, Steve Gillmore dumped in the long putt on No. 8, Russ Wood hit the long men’s drive on No. 9 and Wooden hit the long ladies’ drive on No. 9.

Haflich (No. 8) and Thompson (No. 5) made chip-in shots part of their Monday morning rounds.

` Petteys, Garr, Mike Normandin, Ron Beaty and Rick Kendall all earned payment for making par on the Bend’s challenging No. 2.

Weather permitting and bodies able, the Over the Hill gang players will return to River’s Bend next Monday looking for more links fun.
