WEST END BUMP - Noxon sophomore Riley Richter hits a shot in Noxon Thursday. Lady Devils host Charlo Saturday, Troy next Tuesday.

Troy, Troy and Troy again.

The Noxon Lady Red Devils will get their fill of the Troy Trojans on the volleyball court this week, playing the Trojans at Troy Thursday and hosting the Troy girls in Noxon next Tuesday. In between those net dates with Troy, coach Teri Wilkinson and her Devils will entertain Charlo Saturday.

Featuring two freshmen (Emily Brown and Avery Burgess) in the starting lineup, the Lady Devils have a decidedly youthful look to their lineup.

Wilkinson said Noxon is in a bit of a rebuilding mode as District 14C All-Conference performers Delaney Weltz and Kristina Brown from last season have graduated. Weltz was also an All-State C pick.

"We are very young and inexperienced," Wilkinson agreed. "But figure to know more about ourselves by later in the season. We expect to be quite a bit better by the time we make the second go-around with league teams later on."

The Red Devils played two Sanders County teams last week, falling to Hot Springs in three sets in Noxon Thursday, and dropping a 25-19, 25-22, 25-21 decision to Plains in Plains Saturday.

At Plains, Burgess led Noxon at the net with seven kills and sophomore Riley Richter directed the Devils' attack with 15 set assists, in addition to coming up with 13 digs and slamming Noxon's only service ace in the match.

Please see other story for detail on Plains' efforts in the match.

No statistics or scores were available from the match with Hot Springs.

"We knew Hot Springs was going to be tough this year, they are a seasoned team that starts a lot of seniors. "And we were ahead of Plains in most of the first and second games.

"We have some pretty good potential," she added. "I keep telling the girls to hang in there because I think they are going to start getting things figured out later on this season."
