BLUE HAWK GRAPPLER Shane Reishus, a sophomore at Noxon, will join his Thompson Falls-Noxon teammates in welcoming 12 other wrestling teams to TFHS Saturday for the annual Ted Kato Memorial tournament.

What are you gonna do when Ted Kato wrestle-mania comes down on you?

Thompson Falls High School will be the epicenter of prep wrestling in western Montana Saturday as the annual Ted Kato Memorial Tournament, which features 13 teams this season, will go down for the 2019-20 season.

Besides host Thompson Falls-Noxon, the field of teams includes Montana squads Mission-Charlo, Clark Fork (Superior-Alberton), the Kalispell Glacier JV, the Kalispell Flathead JV, the Missoula Sentinel JV, the Missoula Big Sky JV, Bigfork, Arlee, Florence and Plains-Hot Springs, and Idaho teams Sandpoint and Priest River.

"This should be a real good tournament, sort of like a pre-divisional as Eureka will be the only Western B-C team that won't be here," Thompson Falls coach Mike Thilmony said. "With the Idaho teams back in, we think we should have a really competitive tournament Saturday."

Only part of a very big wrestling weekend in Thompson Falls – the 1979 and 1980 Blue Hawk State B-C championship teams will be honored during a triangular dual at TFHS Friday evening (see other story) – the Kato tourney should get underway by 9 a.m. Saturday and run through to completion.
