Club grapplers busy last week

Talk about making a difference.

Thompson Falls Blue Hawk Wrestling Club Little Guys competed in the Making a Difference Tournament in Kalispell this past weekend, and several local grapplers finished very high in their respective weight classes.

Hartleigh Block, Danni Hill and Emory Butler all won first place medals in Kalispell, Leana Nicholson and Paul Sundstrom earned second place honors, Neala Block, Weston Block and Alex Hensley all placed third and Noa Stevens took fourth.

Also wrestling in Kalispell were Lou Hannum, Jaxson Hensely, Caz Zeretzke, Grady Dana and Kamdin Hensley.

While some Falls Little Guys competed in Kalispell, several others went grappling in the Mission Red/Blue Tournament, including Gage Lora, Maddox VanElswyk, Gabby Taylor, Jase Kelly, Lane Thilmony, Easton Deal, Tristan Kelly, Owen Frank and Rylan VanElswyk.

The Thompson Falls junior high team, which high school assistant coach Jase Miller is guiding, also reportedly competed in Mission.

The big news making a difference in young grapplers’ lives this week will be the first-ever AAU Girls State Tournament in Billings this weekend, and the Blue Hawk Wrestling Club plans on sending a contingent of girls into that event.

Other club wrestlers will be competing in the Kootenai Classic in Libby Saturday.
