TF pool set to open June 15

 


After being closed last year for necessary repairs, including new plumbing, concrete decking and showers, the Thompson Falls City Pool will open June 15. The swimming season will go through August 15. Open swim times are 1-3 p.m. and 3:15-5:515 p.m.There will be a 50-person limit per session. People who swim in the first session will be allowed in the second session if space is available. Everyone will have to sign in for each session before entering the pool.

Lessons will be the focus this year, due to the pool having been closed last year. Sign-up for swim lessons will be online this year, starting June 8. To sign up, go to http://www.cityofthompsonfalls.com and click on the “pool” tab. Credit card and debit card payments will be accepted online. The first set of lessons will start June 22 and will go through to July 3. Other sessions will occur in two-week intervals.

New this year will be evening lesson sessions.Tiny tots will have lessons 5:30-6 p.m., Level 1-2 will be 6-6:30 p.m. There will be no evening session for Level 3 lessons.the evening. Locals can sign up their child for one session of lessons. If a person wants to sign their child up for a second session, they will be put on a waiting list, and if space permits will be allowed in the session. If a person has any problems with signing up, paying, or not knowing what level to sign their child up for they can call 827-7665 and leave a message.


Lap swim is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and water aerobics is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. as well as from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. There will be a 25-person limit per session, which will be first come first served. These will start on the opening day.

Prices are the same as they were in 2018 and are posted on the city’s website. Everyone entering the pool will be required to pay and to sign in. The pool will not be rented out for pool parties. Times are such to allow for cleaning, which will be done during swim lessons. Everyone is asked to please wait outside of the pool until their swim, lesson or water aerobics time is announced. Participants are also being asked to practice social distancing and to follow the pool rules. If anyone has any COVID-19 symptoms, they are asked to stay home.
