Weather - Noxon/Bull River

BURROWED IN, a new fawn in Thompson Falls works to stay hidden from intruders.

May was wetter than usual. That would explain the cooler than average daytime highs and the warmer than average overnight lows. May often features large temperature swings, but 1986 had the wildest May, setting the record for highest (100) and lowest (20) May temperatures, and the most May days over 90 degrees F (7). Total moisture for this water-year (since October 1, 2019) is 27.01" compared to 29.90" average (10% below average). Snow total for the water-year is 88.1" compared to 115.5" average (24% below normal). Poorman Creek SNOTEL site reports the 5/31 snowpack is 29 inches (11.0 inches water equivalent), 37% above average, but melting fast (by the time I did this report on 6/9 it was down to 8 inches of snow).
