Ostwald makes Bend his private playpen

August 13, 2020

It was fun night at River’s Bend for Wednesday Night Men’s play last week, and no one had more fun than hot-shooting Ryan Ostwald, who has made the Bend his under-par playpen the past two weeks.

Seven days after beating the Bend with a remarkable four-under par effort back on July 29, Ostwald notched a one-under round of 35 this past week. Included in Ostwald’s latest assault on par were the shot closest to the pin in 3 on No. 2, and the long drive of the night on No. 9.

In other play of the day, Jesse Mosher carded the low net of 32, Ben Mummert was closest to the pin on No. 8 and hit the long 55+ drive on No. 9, Gary Thompson chased in the long putt on No. 3, Bruce Sterling delivered the shot closest to the cup on No. 5, and Paul Flemmer collected long-putt honors on No. 6.

Rusty Sharp (No. 13), Mummert and Mosher (No. 14) and Flemmer (No. 17) all scored chip-in shots last week.
