Rex Theater hosts open house

Community members gathered Saturday night to celebrate the Rex Community Theatre's open house. An evening full of good food and live music, the newly established non-profit welcomed attendees with open arms. The Broken Hipsters started the evening, as people snacked on popcorn and soda, with catering from Two River's Grille. It was an exciting night as the community came to show their supports as this cherished institute – the Rex Community Theatre – takes some big leaps towards its new beginning.
A raffle for a Pit Boss 440D2 Deluxe Wood Fired Pellet Grill, donated by a local Rex volunteer, added a level of anticipation to the event. Only 150 tickets were sold for this raffle, and all 150 tickets were purchased, said Debbie Wilson of the Rex Theater Group. As the Broken Hipsters sang their cover of Brooks & Dunn's Song, Boot Scootin' Boogie, several couples showed off their two step skills on the floor. Local favorites, Dave and Deb Oliver, brought along their ever-popular porch music, bringing the night to a close.
The Rex is now in the process of welcoming their next big event to the stage, Washington-based Ted Vigil. Vigil is a singer, songwriter and John Denver tribute artist. The Rex is looking for local businesses that can help sponsor these big events, so in return, they can keep bringing entertainment and events to our little area of Montana.
