I seldom write a letter to the editor, but that must change. I am addressing this to the population at large and especially to Hannah Hernandez of Troy. For several weeks Ms. Hernandez put an ad in the Ledger regarding the Fielder’s. I hope it is not her habit of spreading lies; and that she just did not take the time to investigate the truth regarding the Fielders. Senator Jennifer Fielder has only run for office twice before this and only in the last 8 years. She is not, and never has been, a “career politician.” She has forfeited her private life to serve two terms in office as a service to all of the population of her district. She has served us well. Paul Fielder has NEVER held an elected position. He has reluctantly run for office because like many of us, he is concerned that the will of the people needs to be represented. Most do not know that elected legislators do not receive adequate compensation and must forfeit their time and resources to hold these offices. I would ask that all of us quit making statements about those running for office that are so blatantly untrue. There is too much mudslinging and not enough facts being put forth.
