BLOCKING EUREKA - Dannijo VanHuss blocks a shot attempt by an Eureka player at TFHS gym October 10 as teammate Abbi Lane follows the action. Hawks host Troy in final regular season home match Thursday.

Poetry in motion.

Watching the Lady Hawk volleyball team this season is kind of like watching poetry in motion, every single move seems to be well-thought out and finished with a flourish.

Playing poetically perfect volleyball twice more last week, the Lady Hawks swept to a 25-10, 25-17, 26-24 win over Mission in St. Ignatius Thursday and to a 25-14, 25-16, 25-16 win over the visiting Bigfork Vals in Thompson Falls Saturday.

Hosting the District 7B tournament October 29-30, the Lady Hawks will finish regular season play hosting Troy, with a special early starting time of 5:30 p.m., Thursday and traveling to Bigfork Saturday.

Coach Sandra Kazmierczak says the Lady Hawks' inspired play has been a thing of beauty this season. And it has only gotten better lately.

"The girls have been in a rhythm lately, they are just moving together so well right now," Kazmierczak said. "They are a lot of fun to watch."

Maybe fun to watch but definitely not fun to play against.

Making every pass rhyme and on time, the Hawks took Mission down in short order.

Playing her usual all-around game, Scarlette Schwindt led the Lady Hawks in Mission with two blocks, seven digs, five kills and six assists, Riley Wilson hit three aces and added 14 assists, and Jody Detlaff five kills and two service aces.

Against Bigfork, Detlaff floored a team-high 10 kills, five blocks and four aces, Schwindt was good for nine kills, 14 assists and seven digs, Wilson added 12 assists and six digs and Abbi Lane blocked four shots.
