Sharing passion for our community

October 29, 2020

If only everyone had as much passion for their community as Ray Brown.

Ray was recently hired as executive director of Sanders County Community Development Corporation (SCCDC). Last Thursday, he addressed Thompson Falls Chamber of Commerce members during a Business After Hours Event. He talked about his passion for the Sanders County communities, not just Thompson Falls, where he lives. He talked about the resources available through SCCDC, for businesses, individuals or nonprofit organizations.

Through the Montana Office of Tourism and Business Development's Montana Aware campaign, Brown has available signage, face coverings and hand sanitizer free of charge. He distributed materials to chamber members. He discussed the need for affordable housing for working class families and residents. He discussed connecting students with local businesses and trade workers to help them gain skills needed to join the workforce.

Brown has a passion for our county that is hard to match. More important, Brown is part of an effort to come up with solutions for our communities. Often, people have grand ideas of how to help the community, but ideas fizzle. We believe Brown can connect volunteers and organizations and investors with resources to make our communities better.

For more information on the resources SCCDC has available, or to get involved and be a part of the solution, visit http://www.sanderscounty.org.
