After two years an arrest has be made in the death of William Patrick Conko-Camel outside of Dixon. Tribal Police Officers recently arrested Cavey Little Rossbach for the 2018 murder of Conko-Camel. Rossbach, charged with felony deliberate homicide, is set to have his initial appearance before in District Court on November 17, and his bail is currently set at $1 million.

On October 5, 2018, at 11:36 p.m. Sanders County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting shots being fired just outside Dixon. Sanders County Sheriff's deputies and Flathead Tribal Police responded, according to charging documents filed in 20th District Judicial Court. Upon investigating they found shell casings and the body of Conko-Camel.

Documents detail how the officers interviewed Conko-Camel’s girlfriend, who was near the scene. She said that they were visiting friends in the area when suddenly Rossbach came in and started punching Conko-Camel. After a few moments, Rossbach was joined by two other individuals. The three men continued beating on Camel until the fight broke up and they ran outside. According to Conko-Camel's girlfriend, the men started throwing objects at the house, and Conko-Camel went outside onto the porch to throw things back. She told officers that Conko-Camel then picked up a hammer and started threatening the three attackers.

The witness then said that one of the men shouted that he was going to get a gun. The three men then ran off and Camel started chasing after them. They ran to the house of Cavey’s wife, where they went inside and grabbed a hunting rifle.

The officers then interviewed Cavey's wife, who said that she heard Conko-Camel yelling he was going to kill Cavey. According to the witness, Cavey then shot Camel at least twice. The officers then later interviewed Cavey in custody and he said that Conko-Camel had chased them to his wife's residence where Cavey brandished a gun and threatened Conko-Camel. Cavey told officers he "unloaded on him" and then admitted to throwing the rifle into the river. The firearm was not recovered.

Upon investigation of the scene, the officers discovered .243 shell casings near Conko-Camel's body. An autopsy showed at least five gunshot wounds in Conko-Camel's body.

According to court records, Cavey was involved in the shooting of another Dixon man in 2006.
