Hawks earn respect

Five named to 7B All-conference squad

November 19, 2020

Respect earned, respect deserved, respect delivered.

The Thompson Falls Lady Hawks capped off a perfect conference season which ended with the school’s first State B volleyball tourney appearance since 2016 (see other story), and then came the respect – earned, deserved and delivered.

The District 7B champion Lady Hawks, who raced through their conference regular season and tournament schedules without the loss of a match to a 7B foe, placed five players on the league’s all-conference team, which was selected by vote of all league coaches following the regular season.

The coaches picked Thompson Falls junior Scarlette Schwindt and seniors Jody Detlaff and Riley Wilson as first team selections, and juniors Elli Pardee and Ariana Wood as second team honorees.

Schwindt and Detlaff were also selected as All-State B players, Schwindt for a third straight time and Detlaff for a second.

The Lady Hawks ended the season with the District 7B regular season and tournament championships, with third place in the Western B divisional tourney, and were one match win away from finishing in the top four at the State B tournament in Shelby last week. See other story for more on the State B tourney.
