Koskela and 5 Hawks head to All-Star game

One more time for all the old times…

Accompanied by coach Jared Koskela, five members of the 2020 Thompson Falls Blue Hawk football team, which advanced all the way to the State 8-Man semifinals before falling in Scobey last fall, will play in the annual Bob Cleverly 8-Man All-Star game in Butte at 7 p.m. Saturday under the lights on Montana Tech’s Bob Green Field.

Freshly graduated from TFHS just this past week, Kade Pardee, Roman Sparks, Lucas Andersen, Cody Burk and Will McPherson were set to travel to Butte earlier this week for a few days of practice with their teammates for the Red team, which includes the Western and Eastern divisions this year.

The Blue team will be comprised of players from the Northern and Southern divisions.

The head coach for the Red team will be Jeff Schultz of Clark Fork, and Mike Cutler and JC Holland of Flint Creek, Koskela of Thompson Falls, Tyler Murry of Mission, Brock Berryhill of Scobey, Tennedrore Kittleman of Ekalaka and Blake Lampert of Westby-Grenora form the remainder of the coaching staff.

Mike White of Shelby will be head coach of the Blue team in Butte.

Koskela looks forward to rubbing elbows with some of the Hawks’ gridiron rivals this week.

“We have a lot in common with these other coaches and teams,” he said. “It will be interesting to get to know them a little better other than being across the field from them during a game.

The Cleverly All-Star 8-Man game was not played in 2020 due to COVID-19.
