RED DEVIL RUN - Cade VanVleet carriess the ball while teammates recover from a tackle during Noxon's final home game of the season last Friday against Valley Christian.

Noxon's football squad welcomed in Valley Christian last Friday afternoon in a 6-Man Western division showdown with playoff seeding on the line. The Red Devils had the opportunity to improve from their fourth-place position in the division with a victory on Friday, but it wasn't Noxon's day as they fell by a score of 52-20. Valley Christian jumped out to a 30-0 first quarter lead that they never relinquished while they solidified their second-place finish in the division.

Noxon was able to push some points across the board in the second half as their offense gained some late traction. The Red Devils scoring was powered by senior fullback Cade VanVleet punching in a five-yard run, quarterback Derreck Christensen throwing a 39-yard touchdown to Shamus Wheeldon, and Brian Risch running in a nine-yard score.

Even with the defeat last Friday, Noxon will head into the 6-Man playoffs as the fourth seed from the Western division. Coach Bart Haflich's squad will travel to Wilsall to face off against Shields Valley, the No. 1 seed from the southern division, on Friday, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
