River Roadhouse plans holiday charity drive

December 9, 2021

River Roadhouse is hosting its first annual Roadhouse Country Christmas Charity Drive on Saturday, December 11, from noon to 3 p.m. Owner Machelle Brossman’s passion for giving back is what helped inspire the creation of the event. “I love being able to give back, I miss these opportunities,” Brossman said. “Jamie Betts and I got together and planned this and decided it will be an annual event.”

The charity drive will benefit families in Sanders County this holiday season. Half of the proceeds brought in will go to a nominated family who has gone through a hardship this year. The other half of the proceeds will be split between the Sheriff’s Relief Fund and buying Christmas dinner for families in need around the county.

Cash donations will be accepted for the hot chocolate, apple cider, tea and snacks that will be provided. Attendees can enjoy a hayride for the cost of two nonperishable food items per person. These items will be donated to the local food bank. Hayrides will start at noon.

Santa arrives at 2 p.m. and Jamie Betts with Simple Creations Photography will be doing Christmas photo sessions. Betts will provide a free digital print with the option to purchase more prints if wanted.

Brossman will provide activities for children and has several drawings for prizes planned throughout the day. A silent auction will also help benefit the Sheriff’s Relief Fund and local families in need. The River Roadhouse will provide food specials throughout the day.

“This charity drive serves as a way to give back to the community who gives to us,” Brossman stated.

To help with donations or to nominate a family in need, email Brossman at [email protected] or call Betts at (406) 274-6841. The River Roadhouse is located at 4093 Highway 200 at mile marker 41 between Thompson Falls and Trout Creek.
