Thompson Falls football coach Jared Koskela has been named coach of the year by the Montana Coaches Association for 8-player football in Montana. Koskela and his Hawks won the state championship earlier this year when they defeated Flint Creek. The Blue Hawks had home-field advantage throughout the playoffs as Koskela and the Hawks finished their season undefeated. Koskela is a 2000 graduate of Thompson Falls High School and also coaches the Blue Hawk softball team.

Plains alumni Anders Brooker was also named coach of the year by the Montana Coaches Association. Brooker earned the honor for his efforts coaching both the boys and girls cross country teams at Hellgate High School in Missoula.
