The Blue Hawk golf team went to its first meet last Thursday. Sophomore Cael Thilmony had the low score for the team with 101, placing him almost exactly in the middle of the field. The winner of the meet, Preston Field of Jefferson High School, scored 80. Sophomore Nick Tessier had the next low score for the Hawks with 119.

"Nick can drive the ball well, his struggle was chipping and putting," Thompon Falls Coach Doree Thilmony said of Tessier. Junior Colton Wormwood scored 126 and sophomore Lucas Allday had 141. Three golfers were unable to attend the meet, including returning state tournament competitor and the only girl on the team, junior Ellie Baxter.

"They're hungry to want to take off some strokes," first-year coach Thilmony said of her team. When asked how she gets her team pumped up before a meet, she responded, "Golf is a nerve-wracking game in that you have to keep yourself calm. Unlike other sports you have to keep your kids calm...We don't do locker room talks. We say, 'hey, go enjoy the game of golf.'"

The team's next meet is in Bigfork on April 14.
