Athlete to bring message to community

Retired professional football player Jeff Neal will be in Thompson Falls next week to “What we do is we share the simple gospel of Jesus Christ,” Neal says in a video on the website of Proshare, Inc., the ministry that visits facilities across the county. Neal will speak with inmates at the Sanders County Jail on Wednesday, June 8, during the day, then will share his message at Rex Community Theater at 6:30 p.m. The evening session is open to the public. Neal is also providing outreach at jails in Lake County, Flathead County and Shoshone County, Idaho.

“I retired from professional football in order to do what I’m doing now: To share the Good News of the Gospel, so that others may come to salvation through Jesus Christ,” Neal states on the Proshare website. “I grew up basically a good kid, raised in a good home. I always had the dream of playing professional football. Growing up, I was always told that I was too small and skinny and that I would never achieve my goal. When I was 13 years old, I asked Christ into my heart. Through him, I was able to overcome the many obstacles I encountered in pursuit of my dream. God gave me the strength I needed to achieve my goal of playing professional football and the strength I needed to live for him.” Neal is a retired NFL, AFL and CFL player.
